Tributes are pouring in for Mrs. Alice George (78), wife of Late Rev. Fr. K. A. George, Bramley Road, Oakwood, London N14 4HU (Marithottathil Kannankara, Vennikulam P.O, Thiruvalla) passed away on Wednesday, 10 June 2020 at 8.00am.
As a senior member of the Indian Orthodox Church in London and the wife of a vicar she was well respected within the Orthodox community and lovingly called as Alice Kochamma by everyone. She was a pillar of the community and loved by everyone because of her exceedingly good nature of helping others and her inbuilt compassion as a nurse.
Messages are flowing in on Facebook and the church Whatsapp groups reiterating recollections and fond memories together with condolences to the family.
One message said ” She has been a mother a sister and a grand mother to most members in our parishes and dioceses in UK including adult and children. We certainly feel deprived as a community with loss of our dear Alice Kochamma.”
Another message described her “Absolutely selfless as a true Christian. Welcomes everyone who had the opportunity to meet her. Will miss her presence.”

Funeral service will take place on Tuesday 23rd June at St Gregorious Indian Orthodox Church in Brockley, London and the Burial at Strayfield Road Cemetry in Enfield.
As per the current rules only limited number of people can attend the funeral service and the burial. Live telecast of the service and burial will be available on Facebook, Youtube etc. Details will be add here later.
