Chenda Melam and Panchari Melam to add spiritual ambiance to the event
Devotees of Attukal Amma in the UK are preparing for a sacred celebration of Attukal Pongala at London Mahalakshmi Temple in East Ham on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, commencing at 8:30 am.
Attukal Pongala Mahotsavam, renowned as an exclusive women’s festival, holds a distinguished place in religious gatherings in Kerala. It has earned a prestigious mention in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the World’s largest religious gathering of women. Often hailed as the ‘Sabarimala of Women,’ the Attukal Bhagavathy Temple symbolise the essence of devotion and empowerment for its female devotees.
Attukal Pongala also holds deep spiritual significance, symbolising devotion and gratitude to the goddess Attukal Amma. As part of the ceremony, devotees will offer Pongala, a special dish made of rice, jaggery, coconut, and other ingredients, as a token of their devotion and prayers for blessings.
