Father of Two Young Kids Battles Cancer: UK-Based Sister Launches Urgent Fundraising Appeal

A young father of two from Vaikom, Manu Kurian (32), is fighting a severe form of cancer and urgently requires financial assistance for life-saving treatment. Manu, a private driver and sole breadwinner for his family, was diagnosed with Double-Hit Lymphoma, a highly aggressive type of cancer, two months ago.

Manu, son of P.J. Kurian and Valsamma Kurian, hails from Padannappurath family and is an active member of St. Antony’s Catholic Church, Chemmanathukara. A hardworking and God-fearing individual, Manu was leading a happy life with his wife Rincy, a trained laboratory technician, and their two young children, Adam (5) and Abel (2), until this devastating diagnosis changed everything.

Currently undergoing chemotherapy at the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) in Thiruvananthapuram, Manu has been advised to undergo CAR-T Cell Therapy at Amrita Hospital, Ernakulam, by March 6, 2025. Doctors, including Dr. Sugeeth, have confirmed that this is his only chance of survival. The hospital has reduced the cost of treatment to 30 lakhs INR, but the amount remains out of reach for the struggling family.

Through the support of their church and friends, Manu’s family has managed to raise 14 lakhs INR, leaving a deficit of 16 lakhs INR. His sister, Anumol Kurian, who lives in Wales, UK, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help raise the remaining amount.

“We are seeking the support of generous individuals to help us save Manu. He is a loving husband, a caring father, and a hardworking son who has his whole life ahead of him. Your contribution can make a difference in saving not just his life, but his entire family’s future,” said Anumol.

The family is appealing to kind-hearted individuals to come forward and contribute whatever they can. Even a small donation can bring them closer to their goal and offer Manu a second chance at life.
