Kerala Tourism has garnered global recognition at ITB Berlin 2025, the world’s largest travel trade show, by securing two esteemed international awards. The state’s innovative “Come Together in Kerala” marketing campaign won the Silver Star in the Campaign International category at the Golden City Gate Awards, while the music video Shubha Mangalyam – Weddings in Kerala received the Excellent Award in the Music International category.
The awards were presented by Wolfgang Jo Huschert, President of the Jury of the Golden City Gate Awards. Kerala Tourism Additional Director (General) Vishnuraj P. accepted the honours at a grand function held in Berlin, Germany.
The Come Together in Kerala campaign, designed to encourage urban families to break away from their hectic schedules and reconnect amidst Kerala’s tranquil landscapes, leveraged multiple media platforms, including print, digital, radio, and social media. The campaign’s emotional storytelling, showcased in videos like Yeh Dooriyan and Saath Saath, alongside vibrant print advertisements, played a pivotal role in enhancing Kerala’s appeal as a premier travel destination.
Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas expressed his delight, stating, “These prestigious awards reaffirm Kerala Tourism’s commitment to crafting world-class marketing campaigns. The Come Together in Kerala initiative significantly contributed to record-breaking domestic tourist arrivals in 2023, reinforcing Kerala’s reputation as a top travel destination.”
The award-winning music video Shubha Mangalyam – Weddings in Kerala highlights the state’s enchanting allure as a wedding destination. The three-and-a-half-minute romantic video, featuring renowned Indian-American singer Vidya Vox, blends Western pop with Indian classical music. With lyrics in English, Hindi, and Malayalam, the video narrates the love story of a non-Malayali couple celebrating their wedding in Kerala.
Shot across Kerala’s breathtaking landscapes, including the Alappuzha backwaters, Vagamon hills, and Marari beach, the video quickly gained traction, amassing over a million views on YouTube within two months of its release. It has also gained widespread popularity across social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
The recognition comes just eight months after Travel + Leisure India & South Asia magazine named Kerala the best wedding destination. With these accolades, Kerala Tourism continues to establish itself as a global leader in innovative travel marketing and destination branding.
