Manoj Pillai, former President of the Union of UK Malayalee Association (UUKMA) is contesting as a Conservative candidate in the forthcoming Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) council election. He is contesting from the Canford Heath ward.
Manoj was also the president of the Dorset Malayali Community.
Manoj is one of the organisers of Dorset Mela which runs yearly at Poole Park for raising funds for local charities.
He is also the founder and Chair of Royal Challengers Cricket Club affiliated with the Saturday League of Dorset Cricket Board.
He works as a supervisor for local bus operator, Morebus since 2005.
Manoj, who hails from Thiruvalla is married with three children and his wife works as a registered Nurse with Poole Hospital NHS Trust.
