Rishi Sunak and Family in India: Meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi met former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his family on Tuesday, February 18, marking a significant moment in India-UK diplomatic relations. Modi shared pictures from the meeting, describing it as a “delightful encounter.”

Sunak was accompanied by his wife, Akshata Murty, their daughters, Krishna and Anoushka, and his mother-in-law, Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy. Their visit to India highlights the strengthening personal and political ties between the two nations.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed his pleasure in meeting Sunak, stating, “It was a delight to meet former UK PM, Mr. Rishi Sunak and his family! We had a wonderful conversation on many subjects.”

He further emphasized Sunak’s commitment to fostering a stronger relationship between India and the UK. “Mr. Sunak is a great friend of India and is passionate about even stronger India-UK ties,” Modi added.

Earlier in the day, Sunak and his family visited the Indian Parliament House in New Delhi, where they were warmly welcomed by Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh. The visit reflects the deep cultural and political connections between India and the United Kingdom and signals continued collaboration on key global issues.
